6 years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake that struck on March 11, 2011. And the Kumamoto Earthquake struck in 2016. We pray for the souls of those who lost their lives, and sympathize with the pain and suffering of the surviving family members and those who were affected by the earthquakes. Our company is committed to providing more active support for the reconstruction of the affected areas.
The environment surrounding our business is changing drastically at a rapid speed. Regardless of the changes that we are facing, our company wants to continue contributing to customers and society through products, services and value that bring joy to our customers.
One example is the expansion of models that make use of our company's original power-assisted unit "DUAL DRIVE." Thanks to the support of our customers, models such as "bikke GRI" which provides support for mothers and fathers busy with bringing up their children, have been given favorable reviews in the market. We will work together to continue developing and offering products that can offer useful suggestions for everybody's lifestyle from a customer-centric perspective so as to bring joy to everybody.

2016 was the year of the Rio Olympics and Paralympics, and the Bridgestone Group developed various campaigns as one of the Top Partners. We feel that we are getting "
a good result" in the preparations leading up to Tokyo 2020 as we have produced Olympic/Paralympic athletes from those athletes to whom Bridgestone Cycle is giving equipment support. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everybody who gave us their support. Looking ahead to Tokyo 2020, we will continue to expand our sports promotion programs and support for community projects.
