I would like to express my gratitude for your ongoing loyal support of the Bridgestone Cycle Co., Ltd. Thanks to this support we have now been in business for 67 years.

Five years have now passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake which struck on March 11, 2011. We mourn the loss of the victims and acknowledge the pain and suffering of the surviving family members and those who have been forced to evacuate. This company is committed to providing even greater proactive support for reconstruction of the affected areas.

The business environment surrounding the bicycle industry is characterized by dramatic changes; changes that also occur at a fast pace. Regardless of such changes, this company will lead the bicycle industry and continue to contribute to customers and society by providing products, service and value which delight the customer.

Message from the President
The mission of the Bridgestone Group is "Serving society with superior quality". The mission of Bridgestone Cycle is "Contributing to improved lifestyles and cultural development through bicycles". In an effort to become a company which is appreciated by all stakeholders, and with a view to realizing this mission, we are focusing our management around three pillars.

1.Provision of products, service and value which impress our customers
Thanks to our customers, Bridgestone cycle enjoys an excellent reputation. By listening to our customers' wishes and further strengthening ties with our supply chain, we will transfer new technologies to products and services to create unrivalled new value which will be passed on to customers.

2.Ensuring the absolute best quality
Quality is the foundation on which customer trust is built and ensuring product quality is an absolute requirement for a company. For customers to use our bicycles safely and securely, we must continue to improve this foundation of product and service quality. And by further continuously improving the quality of our work and systems as a corporation, we will respond meticulously to customer demands and deliver quality that is appealing.

3.A vibrant, exciting corporate culture
To provide products, service and value that impress customers, it is important that the company is vibrant and lively and encourages open discussion in an unrestrained atmosphere. Producing exciting plans will create systems and a corporate culture that facilitate the provision of products, service and value.

2016 is the year of the Rio Olympics. Kohei Uchima from the Bridgestone Anchor Cycling Team has been selected as a candidate athlete and we are very grateful for all the support he has received. Looking ahead to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with the whole bicycle industry we will be expanding sports promotions and support for community projects.
